As far as internal deaconry is concerned, we have 4 voluntary deacons in the assembly: Anne Marie Tørressen, Åsveig Hauge, Geir Arne Egeland and Per Kåre Vatland. They have a special focus on the elderly, sick, lonely, and people in grief related to various scenarios that occur to us throughout life. The deacons are formally under the parish council, but relate primarily to elders and the pastor team, where there will be a regular contact back and forth, to help ensure that the internal deaconry is lifted, and people in the congregation are seen.
In addition to this, we know that there is already a lot of internal deaconship going on in the assembly, and the deacons will also work on getting an overview of this, and aligning. In other words, the goal is not for them to do everything, but to do something, to be the link between everything that happens among the volunteers, while at the same time representing the Fredheim Arena through what they do and the people they meet. In other words, they want contact with those of you who already practice deaconship in the “hidden”, in order to build fellowship and gain insight.

Care in practice
Through our diaconal work we want to offer care to the congregation, through deacons and also externally through”Heart palpitations“and”Super Saturday“We have a desire to mean something to the people of the city and the region. 2024, we also began building up a care center that will offer among family counseling and soul care. Here we have connected with different people with different skills. This offer will have a co-payment, but at a very affordable price. More info to come or get in touch.
Heart palpitations
Heart palpitations is our diaconal “online bank”, whose mission is to manage, communicate help needs and help potential helpers to carry out care in Sandnes, and in the parish.
We want to appear as a beating heart in and for our city, with the heart of Jesus as an example. Heart palpitations are an initative of the Fredheim Arena, which has also spread to other places in the country.
SuperSaturday
Superlørdag is an offer open to everyone, who wants to mean something to Sandnes and the families who live here, through building relationships, contributing to integration and fighting outside/loneliness. We hope Super Saturday can be a place where families from different backgrounds can find joy, togetherness and dignity.
SuperSaturday is a project between BådeOG, Fredheim Arena & Skapertunet. The event takes place on the first Saturday of the month at noon, usually in the Fredheim Arena Conference Center, unless otherwise communicated.
